Very early, Maria discovered her passion for interior design and the thrill that comes with creating exceptional, thoughtful spaces that fulfil the needs and wants of her clients. With every project, Maria digs deep to meet that challenge. Her collaborative nature, humility, and ability to listen make her a highly sought-after design professional.

Heather Cousins - D.I.D - Principal

"If you love something, it will work—that's the only real rule."

Heather believes every space should tell a story and act as a culmination of what a client needs, wants, or loves. She is highly creative and works hard to make sure her clients are happy, involved, and at ease during the entire design process. With every project, she is passionate about designing for real life—to support how people really live and how they occupy their spaces. What a client needs is not necessarily what they ask for, and it’s up to her to know the difference.

Heather has been designing for over 10 years and is an active member of IDIBC (The Interior Designers Institute of British Columbia).

Stefanie Yeoman D.I.D - Interior Designer

When Stefanie was a young child, she spent her afternoons drawing treehouses to scale on graph paper. She loved figuring out how things went together and pursued secondary schooling in Fashion followed by Interior Design. These technical skills are utilized in assisting with Materia’s drawing sets. With an eye for every detail, and an ability to pull the details together, Stefanie is a collaborator with the team in preparing projects for construction.

Krystina Lutsenko - D.I.D - Interior Designer

Krystina is committed to cultivating valued relationships and helping clients reach the best version of their overall vision. Her goal is to create a space that is the best version of itself aesthetically, and functionally. She believes interiors can transform daily life, and integrates the client’s personality into each design to ensure a unique end product that truly feels like home. Her designs combine current trends, with timeless elements to create a classic design that will maintain its beauty as time progresses.

Irina Chirkoff, D.I.D. - Interior Designer

As a creative person by nature, Irina has always been passionate about art and design. She loves the process of starting with a single concept and exploring all the different aspects of the project from functionality, to ergonomics, to aesthetics, and how they all come together into a beautiful final product. Her niche is creating detailed 3D renderings. This provides clients the ability to experience their space before it's even built, to help execute their vision. Irina believes that the most beauty can be found in simplicity and that it’s the little details that can make all the difference.
